Less is more…
I noticed recently that I’ve been grinding my gears for months trying to do it all, run a successful Etsy shop, stay on top of answering client emails, commissions, projects, social media, and in addition to all of that, painting!
My friend, we cannot do it all.
It wasn’t until we got slapped with tariff threats from the US and that I was forced to offload most of the printing, packing and shipping for my Etsy shop that made me slow down and realize how long I’ve been in a grinding mode.
Sometimes it really does take something outside of our control to help us realize that we need to frame things differently, have a different perspective, gain some space and come back to our roots of what truly matters to us.
I did not start my art business in 2017 to lead myself into working long hours, dealing with constant stress and burnout, especially in my 30’s. I started my art business to have freedom of my life, to live intentionally and without constraints of a 9-5.
The scarier moments of life, pandemics, tariffs, have always been a huge shifting point in business for me, and I’m learning to accept change with grace rather than pushing back against it.
Much like my art, business evolves over time and the more I can learn how to surf and ride the waves, the more successful I can be in keeping that sense of freedom, creativity, and truly just a simplicity of life.
Less is more, friend. When we do less, we actually do more, because we provide space around the things that are important, and this must be the biggest life lesson I’ve had so far.
To living intentionally, simply,
Sabina
